Many of those who are of Indian origin but are living outside India are interested in the languages of their forefathers. They want to see how their names and those of their near and dear ones (e.g. spouse, parents, children) appear in these languages. Some want to have tattoos of these names, some want to display these and some are curious. It has been observed that even those who are not of Indian origin are becoming interested in getting tattoos in Indian scripts.

How are you so confident of the accuracy of the results?

The product has been developed with the involvement of those who are native speakers of these languages and have been using these languages since their early childhood days. Moreover, all possible alphabets in these scripts have been taken care of and the product thoroughly tested. |

Instead of using this product, why can't I just use a font for the script of my choice?

Any font assumes a mapping between certain key combinations and the alphabets of the target script. In order to know what key combinations to use, you need to have the knowledge of the script. But Visharad Software can be used if you want to see a word in an Indian script even though you have absolutely no knowledge of the script. |

Why does the product expect me to write a word in phonetic symbols? Why can't I write the
word the way I write in English?

The same letters (or letter combinations) in English can be pronounced differently. Example: consider how ough is pronounced in tough, though, through, thought.
Through phonetic symbols, you specify how you pronounce the word and Visharad Software will display the word in your favorite script. |

How do I know what phonetic symbols the product expects?

The help guide explains the symbols in detail. The symbols are so intuitive that in most of cases, a word in these symbols is the same as you write the word in English. |

How do I know if the phonetic symbols I have chosen really represent the way I pronounce a word?

Once you have chosen the symbols, you can hear Visharad Transcriptor read out the word for you. |

I would prefer if the product itself guesses how a word is pronounced so that I do not have to
type phonetic symbols?

Visharad Transcriptor displays various phonetic symbols for a word depending upon various ways in which the word is pronounced. By asking Visharad Transcriptor to pronounce these symbol combinations, you can select the combination of your choice.
However, it is possible that you pronounce a word in a way, which is different from all the guesses made by the product. This being the case, provide the appropriate symbols and you are requested to email the symbols to customer_care@visharadsoftware.com

From where will I get the latest patch?

We provide the patch in this portal. When you try to install a patch, the installation will itself check if you already have the latest patch. If no, then the latest patch will be installed in your system. |
